We left Vernal UT Sunday morning October 3rd heading for Jackson Hole WY where we'll be staying until the end of the month. We passed on the eastern side of the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Flaming George was established by Congress on October 1, 1968 and contains 207,363 acres of land and water. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is almost equally divided between Utah and Wyoming.

Flaming Gorge Dam impounds waters of the Green River to form a reservoir of approximately 42,020 acres.  The last time we were in this part of the country was 1996 as we rode our motorcycles south into Moab.  Little has changed as this remains a beautiful area.

We arrived in Wyoming shortly after leaving Flaming Gorge.  Vast landscapes, beautiful skies and ground colors with a never ending horizon greeted us as we continued on to Jackson Hole.

This area is so vast and so beautiful that it becomes very difficult to properly capture it in photographs however these are our meager attempts to portray the beauty of the area.  One can not come to this area and not experience the sprit of the area.
