Jackson Hole Buffalo

We left Jackson driving north into Yellowstone National Park yesterday going as far north as Mammoth Hot Springs before returning to Jackson.  For those unfamiliar with Yellowstone, we entered the park at the South Entrance and were within 5-miles of the North Entrance and the town of Gardiner MT.  Mammoth Hot Springs is 92-miles north of the South Entrance. Needless to say it was a very long day.

Returning home we past through Moran Junction which as you travel North on highway 26 you can either enter the Teton National Park or drive east into the Wind River area and further east to Dubois.  We exited Yellowstone almost directly into the Teton National Park and later Moran Junction where we continued south on highway 26 back to Jackson.  Less than a mile south on highway 26 we encountered a rather large herd of Bison which we include here.  We'll post a second blog shortly showing the images captured in Yellowstone however we wanted to share the Bison first.

The images were all captured either using a Canon 1DsIII and 70-200 lens or a Leica M9 and 135mm lens; processing was done with a combination of Photoshop CS5 and Capture One Pro.

Thank you as always for allowing us to share our experiences; please feel free to leave a comment of question.
