Alaska – Day 28 Denali National Park

After our 11 hour bus ride yesterday we decided to sleep in and give our tired bodies a break knowing all too well that we have to get back up again Thursday morning at o-dark hundred to catch yet another bus going into the park.

We decided to drive around today and see what the sights were outside the park. We returned to Healy to top off the truck as that was the closest place that sold diesel; and decided to return to the Totem Inn Café where we had enjoyed a very good meal on our drive down from Fairbanks. Highly recommend this place as a stopping point for great food. Sheri Lyn serves great food and her laugher is contagious.

Did the typical tourist thing in the town just outside the park entrance going through all the shops and such.

Thought we’d also share where we’re staying; it’s called the Grizzly Bear RV which is less than 8 miles from the Wilderness Access Center (where we catch our bus).

Weather has been cool with periods of slight rain, wind, clouds and sunshine. The Mountain still hasn’t shown herself.
